I don’t get why Christine is portrayed so ditsy and weak in some versions like
-it’s Raoul and Erik who swoon and cry in every scene, not Christine, i think you’re mixing up your characters
-out of Raoul and Christine, Leroux literally calls Christine “the stronger of the two”
-When Raoul is all up her face she actually calls him out on his shit like I don’t need to answer to you I don’t need no man
-when Erik starts to freak her out she doesn’t run to Raoul for protection, she tries to make him leave so she can protect HIM from Erik
-Raoul doesn’t make it particularly easy though she physically has to drag him away from every trap door in the opera house
-she’s REMARKABLY CALM about being kidnapped Raoul would have cried if Erik had kidnapped him let’s be honest here
-Her mother dies when she’s six and her father, who was the entire world to Christine basically, dies when she’s a teenager. but she stills deals with her losses despite being haunted by them. that’s hardcore
-she was literally the only person who could stand looking at Erik’s face without freaking out and she still found the goodness in her heart to pity him instead of just running away from that crazy, she hella brave and has an extraordinary capacity to see the good in others
-she tries to sing for Erik once last time before she leaves just to be nice?? instead of just immediately leaving??
-it takes a really big person to pity someone like that instead of despising them out of fear, and though she acknowledges that he’s messed up, she refuses to say that she hates Erik
-Raoul doesn’t rescue Christine it’s the OTHER WAY AROUND he accidentally falls into a torture chamber and would have died if the Persian didn’t know his stuff and if Christine hadn’t convinced Erik not to drown them both
-She chooses to live with Erik rather than let Raoul die along with everyone else in the opera house that took guts, if she wasn’t hella brave she would have just let everyone get blown up
-like that’s so selfless of her
-she also has rlly pretty hair go Christine go
