I hate to do this again, but I’m really being left with no choice. I’ve picked up shifts, but they’re only small ones and I’ve had missed work because clients cancelled or holidays cancelled shifts or I’ve had to call out because of my chronic illnesses. On top of the fact that moving, which was necessary, meant I had to pay the rent and shit on two places in one month. Each pay check I get further and further behind. I’ve changed up our grocery shopping, but even still groceries are too expensive and I’m paying out of pocket on top of SNAP and I’m spending a lot on gas getting my car out to my dad to get the car fixed for one thing or another and our washing machine is still for shit so I’m also having to go to the laundromat. And because I keep not having money I need, I’m spending between $35 to $150 a month on overdraft fees at my bank.
This pay check after putting gas in the car and putting aside grocery money for next week and getting the cat food and litter and paying utilities (which I need to pay to be able to sign up for heating assistance for the winter) I’ll need $600 to pay rent and my student loan (I’m two months behind on it and I desperately need to pay it, both for my grandma’s peace of mind and credit score and my own credit score). Before this I was only $400 in need and I thought maybe, but reality did not miss a chance to screw us over. I thought I’d have November to catch up on shit, but the next month of three pay periods is in MARCH. By March I could be homeless for the fact that I cannot pay rent even within the month due.
