i encounter people who want to try short hair but have been socialized to be nervous about it way more often than people who have cut their hair short and regret it.

my advice: if you’re interested in short hair, go for it

• it’s fun
• so damn convenient
• dries faster (great in winter)
• cooler (great in summer)
• less hair in the sink/on the floor 
• timesaver
• easier to style
• middle finger @ gender binary 
• grows faster
• (not necessarily technically, it just feels that way. a few inches of growth feels crazy long if you’re used ear length)

try it in stages if you’re hesitant. take a few inches off here and there. trim it impulsively at home. shave it all off at once. do whatever, life’s beauty is its impermanence, rules are fake.

honestly it should be the norm for everyone to try both long and short styles at some point. it’s very freeing
