I will never stop thinking it’s extremely fucked up that creators will get less credit and more shit, for trying to be progressive and inclusive but falling short in some way, than creators who don’t try at all.
Oh, man, oh, man, I’m scrolling through my blog to see if Tumblr has flagged anything and it hasn’t flagged any of the actual boobs that I have drawn, of which there have been a few, but all done as works of art (also, boobs are no big deal).
Because I’m a nerd who reads the details of everything I sign, here’s a few pointers about the new tumblr guidelines:
Traditional art and writing is still allowed via the new guidelines, just not photos and videos of real folk being “inappropriate”. So if your nsfw drawings or fic get flagged, just appeal and you should be fine.
And anything that gets flagged will not be deleted, they will just automatically become “private” so only you can see them.
And they are not deleting anyone’s blogs. If you have a nsfw blog that is labeled as such in your settings, all they will do is make all your content private and unsearchable, and hide your avatar and possibly your username if those are considered inappropriate as well. They don’t want to lose their user base so, rather than delete you, they want to give you a chance to turn your blog around and start posting safe content.
Don’t panic. Don’t delete anything. Just breathe and take this a day at a time.
Also please keep in mind the algorithm that flags inappropriate content still has bugs to work out, it still has to learn what actually is and isn’t appropriate. Please don’t panic about random post getting flagged.
A ton of posts are now being flagged as sensitive content thanks to Tumblr’s new idea to make it adult content free. However, you can request a review so they can fix it. I know it’s tiring, and I know it’s not our fault that Tumblr can’t do a simple thing right, but I refuse to have any of my SFW creations being taken down just because Tumblr doesn’t know how to write an algorithm.
So here’s what you can do, even if you aren’t the OP.
Any post that has been flagged will show something like the image below at the top of the post, even if it’s a reblog.
If you’re the OP, a REVIEW link will show up at the right margin of the red bar where it says “Your post was flagged”. Click on it, and then click REQUEST REVIEW, like the image below.
After you’ll get a message in an orange bar saying “Your post is in content appeal”, meaning they’re evaluating whether their algorithm screwed up or not. If it was wrongfully marked as sensitive (and it most likely was), you’ll get an email being alerted to that your post is now visible to everyone again.
Alternatively, if you aren’t the OP, but your reblogs are flagged as well, (which in this case, you’ll see something like the image below in your flagged reblog), you can message the OP about it so they can request a review.
Please, don’t ignore this! It’s bad enough that adult content is being deleted because Tumblr can’t deal with p*rn bots, but having content that has absolutely nothing to with adult content being deleted as well can be fixed, even if we’re the ones who have to ask for said fix.
fellow lesbians/sapphics, especially lesbians, block @rougher-and-harder. he’s a cishet man with a porn blog who seems to browse the lesbian related tumblr tags, save girls’ selfies, and send them back to them via dm, saying we’re “perfection”.
he also reblogs posts from other porn blogs that seems to be about corrective rape/men having sex with lesbians, so he’s definitely dangerous, especially for those of us who have experienced sexual abuse.

I wrote over 2600 words on my thesis today. No i am not joking or kidding. No I am not on any drugs or even caffeine. I just sat down and wrote. This is hands down the most productive day of my life. We will never see it’s like again.
