For those unaware because staff isn’t saying it

Tumblr was deemed too full of inappropriate content to be allowed to be downloaded from the app store.

It has this “inappropriate” problem because of rampant porn ad bot accounts. The old solutions were bots to detect image sets with nsfw content, the automatically enabled safe mode, tag filtering for mobile, and wide takedowns of nsfw bots based on words used (that’s why their messages are full of numbers and symbols, to evade this)

Tumblr released their own bot supposedly capable of wiping the ad bots, but it’s taking down many popular blogs, possibly due to sheer amounts of posting or sheer amounts of ad bots in their notes. This bot was likely rushed to be put out.

You are more likely to be accidentally flagged if you post external links, as well. If your acct is taken down you CAN get it back, but it’s a pain. E-mail tumblr support for help with this. It takes down side blogs with the main ones.

I’ll be halting posts for about a week or until this problem is fixed.

hmmm

what if we started using yellow roses as a symbol of aro people’s love

its not uncommon to associate types of romance with flowers (sapphic violets) and yellow roses are commonly known to represent friendship

the more i think about this the more i like it

also yellow is sometimes associated with aromanticism because of older versions of the flag. so we can say that yellow being used in aromantic imagery represents yellow roses

I like this. A lot.

Morally grey: A character who does too much bad to be a good person, but does too much good to be a bad person.

Sympathetic villain: A character who is a bad person, but whose backstory/character arc makes you feel sorry for or sympathetic towards them.

Anti-hero: A character who does bad things to achieve a good goal.

Anti-villain: A character who does bad things to achieve a goal that they believe to be good, but is actually messed up.

Just plain annoying: A character who does bad things to achieve a bad goal but has one throwaway line about a hard childhood that is expected to put them into one of the aforementioned categories when in reality it just makes them annoying

So this happened to me a few days ago, and I thought maybe sharing my experience could help someone if this happens to them in the future.

I was checking my Tumblr when suddenly I was logged out from it and given the usual Log In page. When I entered the details to access my blog, this appeared:

My heart skipped a bit. I tried to re-enter the details (maybe I got them wrong the first time), but no, the same message about Termination was shown. I typed my blog URL and got the

ominous

:

Same thing with my sideblogs.

So obviously I was very worried. I contacted the Tumblr support but didn’t get an answer for 48 hours, only an automated reply. I already started mentally saying goodbye to my blogs, my posts and all my followers, when finally I recieved their answer:

(In case you can’t see the picture, it says:

Hello,
We’ve restored your account.
Thank you for bringing this problem to our attention. We’re sorry that it occurred, and we’ll do our best to make sure that it doesn’t happen again.
You should now be able to log in just fine with your email address and password.
Please let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with.

My blog was restored and working normally. All my sideblogs were intact , and so were my posts and my followers. The only thing that was lost, is all the conversations by Messages. The people with whom you talked are still there, but all the history of the conversation is gone.

Alright so here is what you should do if this happens to you. Don’t panick like I did Click on the “contact support” link provided in the terminated window. Alternatively, go on Tumblr.com/support

Politely explain your situation – give your blog URL, your mail, tell what happened exactly. I understand that the situation can be upsetting, but the person who will read the message and try to help you isn’t directly responsible for the termination of your blog. And sending an angry message with insults isn’t the best way to get your blog back either.

Wait for the reply of the team. If you feel like it takes too much time (more than few days for example), try to fill the Help/Support form again.

Once the team is in contact with you, keep the polite tone. Normally if your blog didn’t go againt the Tumblr rules and policies, you should getit back like I did.

Voila 🙂

Guys this is important. 2 of my followers and rp partners got their accounts terminated today so be careful

musfr:

sharing this info here too since i have a bigger following here than on my main

if your blog/account gets deleted in this  mass purge that’s been going on rn, contact support about it.

you can get your things back. people have had their accounts restored; tumblr’s just failing at dealing with its problems in a way that doesn’t end up in a disaster, as per usual.

obviously it’s still a good idea to have backups of your content etc, but yeah. hopefully this gets sorted out asap.

So I recently got surgery two weeks ago and on the day of the surgery, they had me waiting in a cold room in just a gown because they had to do a pregnancy test. I had just gotten off my period literally two days ago and unless I was miraculously the next Virgin Mary, I’m 100% not pregnant. The nurse barely looks up from her charts to acknowledges this before insisting that I had to take another test. If I didn’t take another one, they would immediately cancel my surgery. It was hospital policy.

I’ve had this condition all my life but its gotten completely unbearable the past few years and I’ve been actively going to the doctors the last two years trying different methods to allievate my pain and this surgery was my last chance at any type of pain free life. It took 6 months to schedule and if I had to wait another second, I was going kill somebody. Safe to say I was a little pissed. I sat in that freezing room, irritated with an IV needle sticking in my hand, waiting on the nurse to find records of my pee test that I did less than a two week ago at their request. She couldn’t find the test results. She handed me an empty container with a cheery smile and an obnoxious prep talk that I did not ask for and told me to fill it.

One of the preparatory requirements they gave me was that the night before the surgery I couldn’t consume any foods or liquid (water especially). So I couldn’t pee. I asked for some water and she reluctantly gave me a cup with two sip fulls.

My surgery was scheduled for 9 A.M, they told me to come in at 7:30 A.M. It was already 11:41 A.M. when I had to retake the test and I didn’t go in until almost 1 P.M. The fact that I had to go through that extra hoop and have the threat of my surgery being cancelled hung over me like a noose just because of a pregnancy test is beyond aggravating. People love perpetually valuing the potential of a possible fetus over the lives of already living women. We always seem to come second no matter what.

That’s sounds extremely stressful. I’m sorry you had to go through that on top of everything else. We aren’t effing incubators!

This is so common amongst girls and women dealing with medical care

The hospital that removed my ovary and tied my tubes makes me take a pregnancy test every time I have surgery, even though it would be a miracle if I was.

When I injured my back (spinal injury you know one where you are careful with a patient) and it was bad no feeling below the change extreme pain etc.

I had subluxed/dislocated my spine.

Except unlike with a man who’d be taken straight to x day or treated with a pinch of dignity ——- I was told while lying in a A&E bed that I had to take a pregnancy test.

I was already crying in pain, I was begging them to let me sign a form, just one form, I told them I was a virgin etc. I wanted a form I promise —- nope, they had 4 men try and turn a SPINAL INJURY patient onto her side while she sobbed and screamed in pain (it me) and tried to slide a bed pan under me. Finally a female nurse came in and told them to get the form

They had told me it didn’t exist.

Men get dignity, women get torture because our bodies are not our own.

I was in hospital a week and they kept checking my pregnancy status.

Because my spine being out and causing no feeling below my waist/immense pain was less important than a possible fetus.

Women’s bodies aren’t our own. We need to fight to stop that.

The more I read all these comments and reblogs, the angrier I get.

I feel like I need to tell you that this is NOT a thing in some other countries. I’m from Austria and here all you gotta do is make an x at “no” under the question if you are pregnant on the general question form. And than sign your answers.

Favorite Alexander the Great facts:

  • Likely had one blue eye and one brown eye like your fave Mary-sues
  • Legit thought he was the child of Zeus.
  • From a young age showed very little interest in sex, especially the opposite sex which was concerning to everyone around because that’s not Manly™️
  • There’s an alleged story that his reasoning for this is because sex reminded him he was mortal. Likewise sleep.
  • Like when he was deep in to Persia and trying to integrate Persian customs in to his rule to be more appealing to the Persians, he constructed a harem of women, one for every night of the year but there’s little evidence that he had any interest in them beyond appearances.
  • But he did have female companions, and did seem to form friendships with women, particularly older ones.
  • He also started dressing Persian, but drew the line at wearing trousers because skies out thighs out amiright
  • Slept with his prized copy of the Iliad under his pillow with also a dagger
  • A nerd who also walked around with a copy of Herodotus.
  • Horse girl
  • Short
  • tbh this really is my favorite fact. When you know his legacy before you know him it’s not something you expect and I always get a chuckle out of certain stories:
  • When he got to Susa and made a grand gesture of sitting on the throne reserved only for the great king (See: Extra Af) ancient sources talked about how, because he was shorter than average and def. shorter than the Persian kings, his feet dangled and his pages had to scramble to find an appropriate foot stool to save face.
  • When meeting with Darius’ captive mother he walked in with his closest friend Haphaesteon to whom Sisygambis started pleading to because she assumed he was the king because he was the taller of the two.
  • Alexander assured her that she was not wrong —Hephaestion was just as much Alexander as he was”
