is is so important to me that OFaPD wasn’t about Grantaire buying in to the revolutionary mindset or converting to republicanism or any real transformation in his beliefs. It was about him embracing his own beliefs and standing up for what was important to him.
Enjolras didn’t respect him for converting to Enjolras’ way of thinking, he respected him for committing as strongly to his own convictions as Enjolras did his. He saw the value in Grantaire’s values.
OFaPD was as much about Grantaire converting Enjolras as Enjolras converting Grantaire and that’s pretty integral to my understanding of the Brick as a whole

Some old housemates of mine were Syrian Orthodox. At their church different members of the church took turns baking the bread that would be consecrated for the Eucharist. This was all well and good until one woman baked raisin bread. This led to the memorable occasion of a rather flustered priest, who had not seen the bread until that moment, declaring, “This – except for the raisins – is the Body of Christ.”

Arash does not double-deal with anybody. Particularly, he is frank from the beginning in regards to his Master. It is improbable for him to betray his Master because, rather than loyalty, he equates him or her as a partner that should be trusted. When talking to someone really close to him, he always keeps a sense of distance to a degree so he does not hit something sensitive and come off as discourteous and impolite.[1]
Arash holds no wish to make on the Holy Grail.
