daily reminder that les amis deserved a happy ending

I feel like Les Amis, the Newsies, and the basketball team from High School Musical are some kind of holy trinity, but of what, I do not know
I honestly feel cheated out of a Les Amis dance number in the musical
Kill the rich. Overthrow the government. Believe in science. Be gay.

here’s my finished piece of les amis de l’ABC for the @foundfamilyzine! you can still pick up a copy over here. i’d never done a full canon-era group illustration before so this was very fun

folks, it is my great, great pleasure to introduce the most brilliant crossover to ever grace your screens…

what started off as a joke between myself and @deboracabral has, with the help of the amazing artists @oilan, @boopliette, @tissueboxesforseals, @weisbrot and @angeolras, turned into a full calendar which will, at some point by the end of this year, be available for your viewing pleasure! that’s ten months of revolutionary nudity (with carefully arranged props), and two full group scenes!
this post is to establish the level of interest for this concept within the fandom; the primary mode of distribution will be a pay-as-you-want digital download, but if there is a big interest we’re also considering doing a print run, and possibly expanding this into a zine with bonus art around this general theme.
if you are interested in a digital download, a printed calendar, a zine, or any combination of those, please reblog and tell us in the notes.
(likes are nice and all but this post is essentially acting as a survey, so we need your reblogs to make this project successful!)
THIS HAS BEEN KEPT SECRET FOR TOO LONG
“He has already left the building” are you for real
“all the mouths are open” OHGSKJDGHSKLGDJSG
What (some of) the amis wrote their thesis on
Bahorel: “Lice, lawyers and other things on L that I don’t like” (Law. Literally just a list of things beginning with the letter L that he dislikes. He failed.)
Grantaire: “Blue is the gayest colour –
a study of Michelangelo’s homosexual colour choices” (Art)
Cosette: “Chicks before dicks –
feminism and friendship in contemporary chick lit” (Literature)
Combeferre: “Leeches, anti-vaxxers and the myths of modern healthcare” (Medicine)
Eponine: “Grow some balls –
a study in how many men I can kick in the balls without getting reported because men are scared they will be seen as weak if they do” (Gender studies)
Courfeyrac: “The Goblet of Bi-re –
discovering the hidden sexuality of Cedric Diggory” (Literature)
Musichetta: “Whistled Wisdom –
the physics behind the whistled languages of the world” (She’s doing a joint honours in music and physics, because it’s basically the same)
bonus Feuilly: “This is not so hard – an extensive study in how my friends complain way too much about their theses”
