flaviamarquesart:

As some of you may know I’ve been wanting to add stickers to my Etsy for a LONG time and finally I got around to do so! This Fantine and Cosette set is the first one but more will follow, I also accept suggestions of which drawings should I add.

(also I’m not adding a link to my shop here since Tumblr apparently isn’t handling links well, but you can find me as Flaviamarquesart on Etsy too or follow the link on my blog’s header)

Everyone always wants to make Patron-Minette out to be these absolute villains and hardasses of the crime world

And yeah, they definitely killed amd thieved, no denying it.

But canonically, let’s review:

Montparnasse

  • Literally tries to rob an old man and gets bested
  • Got lectured for it and given his wallet anyway
  • Promptly pickpocketed by a twelve year-old

Claquesous

  • Walks around basically at all times with his face obscured
  • Like okay buddy, while you’re committing a crime makes sense but this is A Little Much
  • Ventriloquist

Babet

  • Literally described as having lost his family (wife, kids) “as one loses a handkerchief”
  • ???????????

Gueulemer

  • Basically evety stereotype of the guy that puts all of his skill points into strength and makes intelligence his dump stat

In conclusion Patron-Minette is just a bunch of losers who need to get their shit together, thank you for coming to my Ted Talk

not 2 b dramatic but les mis’ reuse of melodies throughout the musical to bring home parallels is what makes it such a fucking work of art. The “little fall of rain” theme that plays during the first scene we get with Marius and Éponine??? The melodic AND lyrical parallels between Valjean’s soliloquy and Javert’s suicide?????? THE “ON MY OWN” THEME WHEN VALJEAN IS ON HIS DEATHBED???????????? that shit hits me like a goddamn train
