Honestly nothing about professional theatre has thrown me more than finding out, after years of high school and college shows where we would be expected to arrive an hour or more ahead of time, that (barring fight calls and hair/makeup/costumes that take exceptionally long to put on) Equity actors just roll up half an hour before curtain, which is usually the same time the house opens
